Are you good at napping? I always thought that I was an excellent nap taker, and I even wanted it to be integrated into my regular work day. I sure miss kindergarten! Anyhow, I checked out napping habits on my iPhone, and I found out some very interesting information. There are different stages of sleep, where the first stage is falling asleep, the second stage is light sleep, and the third and fourth stages are deep sleep, which leads to the REM and stage of dreaming.
This complete cycle can last up to an hour and a half, and it repeats itself all night long. If you want to take a little cat nap, that will last about 20 minutes, and it will bring you to a light sleep in stage 2. This will work to boost your mood, enhance your concentration, and keep you alert. The best way to do so is to drink a quick cup of coffee before you take the nap, since it takes about 30 minutes for the caffeine to kick in. You will wake up completely refreshed, boosted by caffeine, and you will receive the maximum benefits from your quick cat nap. Isn’t that good to know?
