No More E-books For the iPhone

iphone1Apparently, Apple is no longer supporting any type of e-books for the iPhone or iPod touch, specifically because of issues with copyright infringement. Anyone who has tried to submit an e-book to Apple lately has been rejected because of the possibility of infringing on third-party copyrights. Apple decided that they don’t want these type of apps available for The App Store. However, Apple may have made a mistake because they have been confirmed to have rejected at least one e-book application from a national content source that does own all the rights to their own materials and can prove it as well.
People who do have legal copyrights to their e-books are feeling violated, and they are arguing that the same measures should be taken with iTunes because so many people do illegally download music. They are feeling injusticed since they do own the copyrights to their e-book content and don’t want to be banned simply because other people are illegally submitting e-books to Apple. E-books are more popular than ever, and you can see that fact all over the Internet with the wide variety of e-book subjects available. It is a shame that Apple is taking these kind of measures so that their users do not have access to e-books any longer.
