If you are a wine snob, then one thing that you may be surprised to know is that boxed wines are on the rise. I would not necessarily consider myself to be a wine connoisseur, but I am all about the boxed wine varieties. For instance, if you like to have a couple of glasses of wine a night with your significant other, then you may be going through a bottle or more per day. That is pretty wasteful, if you ask me! I guess I am going for the bargain aspect of it all, but a lot of these boxed wines are the equivalent of four bottles. So they should last you a week or more, all for one low price!
I saw the Banrock Station boxed wine being recommended on a link on my iPhone, and it is a Chardonnay from Australia. It again comes in the 3 L size, and it should be around $20, which is totally perfect for my budget! It may seem white trash, but I like the little spigot coming out of the box for easy pouring convenience. It is also said that boxed wines are preferable since they keep the wine from oxidizing after it has been opened, as it would in a bottle. I’m game!
