Maybe this is something that I shouldn’t be saying or posting publicly, but in my past jobs (of course, not the job that I’m at now…), I have always used my iPod to get through the day. This may be due to the fact that I worked at incredibly boring jobs, such as the front desk for a rental car company and a security guard at a bank. You may think that either of these jobs could be fast-paced and interesting, but you are wrong. I pretty much had to download a bunch of movies that I had been meaning to see onto my iPod and watch them as I waited for the phone to ring.
In the bank, this was a little bit trickier because, of course, I did stand in a public place, but they did allow me to have one earbud in my ear to listen to my iPod at all times. The best thing for me to do was to download a bunch of comedy because that was a lot more interesting than just listening to music. This is just a word of advice to anyone out there that is finding themselves with time on their hands in the workplace – use your iPod to pass the hours!
